Dear University Students,
Have you ever wished you could go back and tell your younger self something you know now? Or perhaps leave a message for the person you hope to become? Or maybe share an encouraging message with your current self?
The Library and the Student Support and Wellbeing Department are excited to announce an internal competition: “The DEAR ME Letter Writing Initiative,” celebrating the power of personal stories and the written word.
How to Enter:
Submission Email: Send your letter to Sara.elbakry@bue.edu.eg
Word Limit: Under 500 words
Deadline: October 14, 2026
A panel will review the submissions and select three winners.
Join us for the DEAR ME Letter Writing Initiative Event on Wednesday, November 18, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at the Library’s Cultural Room. During the event, the winning letters will be read aloud, followed by a group discussion and the award ceremony.
External Competition Opportunity
You can also choose to submit your letter to the international Dear Me – Letters Live competition. The winner will have their letter read live on stage at Letters Live at the Royal Albert Hall on November 21, 2026.
